What does it means to be native to Puerto Limón?

It means you are for sure a person who smiles a lot and who knows how to dance well, if you´re not already an expert. It means you love the sun, the ocean and –believe it or not- the rain, it means you feel for sure very much proud, may you not know exactly why.

It also means you don´t care much about your neighbors, but if you spot one when you´re out of town -like in San José or outside the country- you´re going to cheer immediately and feel a warm reaction from the spotted person, and probably both are going to be pals from there on.
It means your culture will show some big differences with the rest of the world once you put one step abroad, and probably one of the first things you will notice is how most people around pay big attention to ethnic differences, while you never gave much importance to such things.

You will also notice sooner or later that you get easily identified with any artistic expression related to the tropics, specially to the Caribbean, you will feel nostalgia, and will find your body moving slightly at the tropical rhythm of the song you´re listening.

These feelings and natural behaviors are known as culture, in conclusion: if you grew up in Puerto Limón you have a culture that may be known as ¨Limon culture¨ and should be proud of such asset.
